Super Attractive Ghetto Blaster, also known as SAGB Shanghai, is a French creative collective founded in Shanghai in 2014. As DJs, event organizers, and content creators, they launched Shanghai’s most renowned alternative afterwork party at La Cava and later at The Cut Rooftop. Story | A serious hobby
Joining the crew in 2015 as a DJ and video maker alongside my main commercial activities, I often describe being part of this crew as a “serious hobby.” It’s all about having fun and experimenting, but it also provides an opportunity to tackle real challenges associated with nightlife and event planning. Creating original content to communicate a unique universe, and playing in upscale venues where the primary duty of a DJ is fulfilled: making people dance, stay, and drink. Amidst this collective synergy, fuelled by the vibrant nightlife communities in Shanghai, I produce party tapes to either announce or recap events. I employ the same creative process used for Shanghai Micro-Stories, shooting directly and editing swiftly with my 小米 Xiaomi mobile phone. These short videos don’t aim for perfection; they are simply snap memories of our nights in the Hai.
